League of Women Voters and Pace University Sponsor Westchester County Debates for County Executive

DISTRICT ATTORNEY & COUNTY CLERK OCTOBER 27

WHITE PLAINS, NY - October 18, 2005 - The Westchester County League of Women Voters and Pace University's Office of Government and Community Relations will co-sponsor candidate debates for Westchester County Executive, District Attorney and County Clerk on October 27 in the Moot Court Room on the Pace Law School Campus in White Plains.  

Each debate will feature a moderator from the League of Women Voters and a three person panel, which will include media representatives and leaders from Pace University 's Student Government Associations. Each debate will follow a traditional format with an opening statement, questions from the panel and closing remarks.  

"Westchester County voters have a unique opportunity to hear the candidates from all three county wide races in one forum," said Noreen Fisher, Voter Service Chair for the Westchester County League of Women Voters. "The goal of this forum is to make it possible for voters to become better informed about candidate positions before they go to the polls."

Westchester County Clerk Debate, 3:30 - 4 p.m., Candidates are as follows:

Westchester County District Attorney Debate, 4:15 - 5 p.m. Candidates are as follows:

Westchester County - County Executive Debate, 8 - 9:30p.m. Candidates are as follows:
