Environment: Emphasis on Sustainability

A hallmark of this transformation is to create a more sustainable campus both in our physical and our academic offerings. Our campus plans will be defined by vast outdoor spaces, an expansive "campus green" at the center connecting buildings, landscaped pedestrian paths, and a campus free from car traffic and noise.

  • The Environmental Center will be relocated north of the Goldstein Health & Fitness Center
  • A new nature walk will connect campus to the Environmental Center facilities and additional pedestrian pathways created
  • Parking facilities will be relocated away from central campus
  • Reduced pollution by eliminating transportation between Briarcliff and Pleasantville campuses

The new Environmental Center in particular will be a tremendous boon both to Pace and to the Westchester community. By promoting environmental education and maintaining wildlife exhibits, Pace is offering students and the public an opportunity to discover the wonders of the natural world and promote environmental consciousness. In addition, more than 60% of the Pleasantville campus will be preserved and maintained as open green space.
