New York County District Attorney's Office
Represent the People at One of the Nation's Preeminent Prosecutor's Offices
Under the leadership of current District Attorney for New York County Cyrus Vance Jr., the New York County District Attorney’s Office is responsible for overseeing the prosecution of violations of New York State laws. The DA’s Office has a long tradition of excellence and nonpartisanship and is considered one of the nation’s preeminent prosecutor’s offices. Since the 1930s, there have been just four elected District Attorneys.
The DA’s Office has internship opportunities for undergraduate, graduate level, and law students to gain first-hand experience with the criminal justice system and local law enforcement in the Borough of Manhattan. In the last year, more than 20 Pace students from a variety of majors including accounting, criminal justice, modern languages, and taxation have held coveted internship positions at the DA’s Office. The majority of these Pace interns held positions that involved forensic accounting.
In addition to hiring Pace students as interns, several current and former employees of the DA’s Office are members of Pace’s faculty and sit on the advisory board of Pace Law School’s Criminal Justice Center.
