Nursing Education (advanced)
Nursing instructors are in short supply nationally. Dean Harriet Feldman has been at the forefront of the government initiatives to provide attractive incentives to students embarking on nursing education careers.
Our Advanced Certificate in Nursing Education prepares students to assume the leadership role of educator in a variety of educational and clinical practice settings. The specialty in education provides students with the latest concepts, theories, and ideas that support sound educational practice in today’s complex health care and learning environments.
Content will include adult learning theories, chaos theory, learning styles of the millennial student and baby boomer work force, use of technology for learning and for teaching, how to work within settings that have great diversity of students, educational policies and key legislative issues will be considered.
Curriculum design, assessment and evaluation techniques, and strategies for successful clinical and didadactic teaching will be studied. This is an exciting program with which to begin an educational career.
