The College of Health Professions proudly moved into our new offices and labs this spring! Our new signature space on William Street will include state-of-the-art simulation centers accessible not only to our students as they practice life-saving skills, but also to our clinical partners. The new space represents a significant investment in the next generation of healthcare providers educated at the College of Health Professions.
The labs will have METIman and SimBaby human patient simulators (HPS) along with a full-featured video capture and playback system that will capture camera feeds from the two simulation rooms as well as all nine clinic simulation rooms. Stored videos will be available on any computer or related device. Faculty will be able to preview student performance, bookmark the video, debrief one-on-one or in a small group, and have the student review the video to improve performance. The system will also allow faculty and staff to work with standardized patients (actors who play the role of patients while students hone their skills), and match students to standardized patients for clinical practice and testing.
