Receives her Doctorate of Humane Letters at the Westchester Undergraduate Ceremony, Monday, May 23  
WCBS-TV news anchor and reporter Abrams may be best known for her almost 20 years on WABC-TV's Eyewitness News. She has been part of award-winning coverage of some of the biggest stories of our time, including the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001; the blackout of 2003; the end of apartheid in South Africa; the Chernobyl nuclear disaster; and the worldwide AIDS epidemic.

Mark Malloch Brown, UN Chief of Staff
Receives his Doctorate of Laws at the Law School's ceremony, Sunday, May 22
A journalist, political adviser, and World Bank official, Brown has worked with politicians and executives from across the globe to address the needs of people in developing countries. As administrator of the United Nations Development Program, he raised more than $3 billion a year for programs to promote democracy, fight poverty, and aid refugees. Brown was recently named chief of staff to UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan.

José Luis Castro '88, Administrator and Educator
Receives his Doctorate of Humane Letters at the Westchester Graduate Ceremony, Sunday, May 22
An international educator and humanitarian, Castro passionately works to educate and provide medication to those with tuberculosis in a worldwide effort to stem the tide of this curable disease. As a student at Pace, he received the Pace Trustees' Award for his service to the University, and as a faculty member he was presented the Dyson College Distinguished Achievement Award.

Charles Gargano, Chairman, Empire State Development Corp.
Receives his Doctorate of Commercial Science at the New York Undergraduate Ceremony, Wednesday, May 25
The former ambassador to the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, Gargano was appointed by Governor George Pataki in 1995 as chairman and CEO of Empire State Development Corporation and vice chairman of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. He has been part of the efforts to revitalize Times Square, lower Manhattan, Pennsylvania Station, and Niagara Falls.

Heidi Miller, CEO, Treasury and Securities Services, JP Morgan Chase & Co.
Receives her Doctorate of Commercial Science at the New York Graduate Ceremony, Wednesday, May 25
One of the country's most prominent women in banking and finance, Miller is an outspoken advocate for women in business. In 2003, Miller sponsored a program that led to Bank One providing the seed funding to help create the Executive Leadership Institute of Women of Color.

Dorothy Orr, Vice Chair, African American Leadership Forum
Receives her Doctorate of Humane Letters at the Westchester Undergraduate Ceremony, Monday, May 23
A pioneer who has devoted her life to building interracial coalitions among the elderly, youth, educators, corporate leaders, government officials, legislators, and community service executives, Orr was instrumental in helping the Westchester County's African American Leadership Forum/Pace University Institute for Advancement of Educational Opportunity in Education.

Jane Rosenthal, President, Tribeca Productions
Receives her Doctorate of Fine Arts at the New York Undergraduate Ceremony, Wednseday, May 25
Rosenthal, film producer and Manhattan resident, works toward the continued recovery of lower Manhattan after the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. Her company, Tribeca Productions, produces the Tribeca Film Festival, which has infused the regions' economy with a reported $125 million. The festival encourages residents to return to normal activities by providing them with a range of unique film-oriented experiences while creating film and business opportunities for lower Manhattan.

Jean Fagan Yellin, Author, Distinguished Professor of English Emerita, Pace University
Receives her Doctorate of Humane Letters at the New York Undergraduate Ceremony, Wednesday, May 25
Historian and scholar Yellin's significant contributions to the research of African-American women's heritage and the subject of slavery in the United States, and her authentication of a young slave girl's manuscript, Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl, earned her numerous awards including the prestigious 2004 Frederick Douglass Book Prize.
