Financial Planning is one of the fastest growing career paths and the CFP® certification is one of the most recognized and sought-after certifications. Pace University's Financial Planning Certificate Program is recognized by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. Our program meets the educational requirements set by the CFP Board and prepares students to take the national CFP® Certification Examination. 

There are seven required courses within the program:  Fundamentals of Financial Planning; Insurance Planning; Investment Planning; Income Tax Planning; Retirement Planning & Employee Benefits; Estate Planning; and Capstone in Financial Planning.

Outline

This is a great course not only for the CFP® professional candidate but also for the CPA looking for CPE credit or even the most experienced financial advisor looking to brush up on his/her knowledge. You will dive deep into the Modern Portfolio Theory, Fixed income market fundamentals, economic cycles, portfolio evaluation, and valuation Methods. The course will cover mandatory CFP Board topics and the teacher will offer additional topic tie backs into applications during everyday planning.

The course will also cover all of the equations and formulas that the CFP Board requires. Students will leave the course with a strong comprehension of Beta, Standard Deviation, Alpha, duration, and Sharp Ratio’s.
You will need a basic understanding of a financial calculator (example: HP-12C) and financial markets.
