Pace University's Financial Planning Certificate Program is recognized by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. Our program meets the educational requirements set by the CFP Board and prepares students to take the national CFP® Certification Examination. 

There are seven required courses within the program:  Fundamentals of Financial Planning; Insurance Planning; Investment Planning; Income Tax Planning; Retirement Planning & Employee Benefits; Estate Planning; and Capstone in Financial Planning.

One night a week for 11 weeks. 6 pm – 9:30 pm, unless otherwise noted. 

Instructor-led.  Our instructors are all working in their field, bringing their professional experience and connections to the classroom.

Outline

The course covers all of the different types of Retirement Plans such as Qualified Plans, Non-Qualified Plans, Individual Plans and the ideas that are involved in making the best selection. Additionally, all of the employee benefits programs are covered with the reasons for their possible selection. A final exam is used as preparation to taking the CFP Board's national exam. Lastly, the class will include case studies to bring all of the course's information together in the determination of how and why companies make their selections.


Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc. owns the certification marks CFP®, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, and federally registered CFP (with flame design) in the United States, which it awards to individuals who successfully complete CFP Board’s initial and ongoing certification requirements.
