Course Description

Red Hat Linux System Administration Course is designed for users of Linux (or UNIX) who want to build skills in systems administration on Red Hat Enterprise Linux to a level where they can attach and configure a workstation on an existing network. This course builds on students' existing Linux skills to move them from being a user to learning actual Linux systems administration.

You Will Learn To

Start building skills in systems administration on Red Hat Linux to a level where you can attach and configure a workstation on an existing network. Students will learn to be effective administrators of Linux systems, mastering tasks such as hardware and device configuration, file system management, user administration, network configurations, kernel services, attaching new Linux systems to a corporate network, configuring the new systems for end-users, and troubleshooting.

Building on the foundation of command line skills learned in System Administration I, this course is for full-time enterprise Linux system administrators who are also interested in becoming accredited with the RHCSA certification. Students will learn to administer and troubleshoot file systems and partitioning, logical volume management, access control, package management.

Building on command line skills for Linux administrators

Red Hat System Administration is designed for IT professionals working to become full-time enterprise Linux system administrators. The course is a followup to System Administration I and continues to utilize today's best-of-breed, contemporary teaching methodology. Students will be actively engaged in task-focused activities, lab-based knowledge checks, and facilitative discussions to ensure maximum skills transfer and retention. Building on the foundation of command line skills covered in System Administration I, students will dive deeper into Red Hat Enterprise Linux to broaden their "tool kits" of administration skills. By the end of this 10 week course, students will be able to administer and troubleshoot file systems and partitioning, logical volume management, access control, package management. Students who attend Red Hat System Administration I & II will be fully prepared to take the Red Hat Certified System Administration (RHCSA) exam.

Course Format

COST: $2400

Linux classes are held two evenings a week (Mondays / Wednesdays and / or Tuesdays / Thursdays) from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. If the class start date falls on a Tuesday, then the class will run on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. If the class start date falls on a Monday or Wednesday, the class will run on Mondays and Wednesdays.
