The Pace University Marketing Association (Plesantville) has enjoyed a period of tremendous growth and opportunity during the 2008-2009 school year. The PLV team was very fortunate to have an extremely dedicated group of students, that without their dedication, this year’s accomplishments PUMAwould not be possible.  At the 31st Annual American Marketing Association Intercollegiate Conference hosted in New Orleans, the team was represented by seven students and their faculty advisor. Pace Pleasantville participated in the annual Chapter Exhibit Competition where students built a display on the conference theme of “Capture Your Marketing Power”. The team competed against 36 schools from across the region, and won a total of three awards for their exhibit.

PUMA also won one award in the Chapter Awards Competition based on their activities throughout the year. The team brought home an award for Outstanding Professional Development.  The Pace University New York Chapter was also a presence by bringing home awards in the category of Outstanding Chapter Planning, Outstanding Communications and Outstanding Professional Development. A congratulations goes out to both chapters, and their president’s Enrick Garcia o fthe Pleasantville Chapter and Samantha Andrade of the New York City Chapter.   A thanks to those who oversaw the students at the conference, Professor Dennis Sandler and Dr. Winsted. It would not also be possible without their hard-working advisors throughout the year: Dr. Malinowski, Paul Kurnit and Dr. Gopalakrishna. Both teams look forward to continue their success at the 2010 conference!
