Settling Back into Pace
September 28, 2009

I’m currently in my dorm room blaring Taylor Swift from my laptop, attempting to complete a list load of homework assignments while trying to find someone on my floor to order Dominos with for dinner because I do not have the ambition or talent to cook a decent meal.
It’s official- I’m settled back into Pace University. I can make it to campus and back to the John St. dorm without getting lost and have managed to spend most of my money on books, food, and some essential things I forgot at home.
After spending my summer back in the farmlands of Schoharie, NY, it’s nice to take advantage of the city once again. For POP TV, we filmed a segment for Fashion’s Night Out on Fifth Avenue and last Saturday, my friends and I took advantage of Italian Food Festival down in Little Italy for some delicious cannolis and shish kabobs, which was a nice treat away from fast food and cooking in the dorms.
In other news, I can say I’m happy with the majority of my classes. My two favorite classes this semester: Teaching 201 (I’m so anxious to start doing fieldwork in PS 226 in the upcoming weeks! ) and Public Speaking (who would’ve thought?). I already have classes in mind that I want to take next semester and internships that I’d like to participate in.
I have a meeting with Pace’s Co-Op and Career services this Tuesday to review my evaluation from my summer internship and to discuss future internship opportunities! I’m definitely considering staying in New York City over winter break to do an internship and to take additional classes.
Let’s keep our fingers crossed that everything will go well…

In the meantime, I guess I’ll attempt to make some pasta for dinner in the 18th floor kitchen. I’ll try not to set off the fire alarm as everyone seems to be doing lately.
