University Health Care

emmanuelblog Last week the Sophomore Scoop Series hosted “Majors and Minors Day” with advisors from the five different schools here at Pace University. Although the event got off to a slow start, common hour hit and students congregated over to the Kessel Student Center. The table of advisors was swarmed by advisees making appointments, and even Dean Lisa came by for a visit! Speaking to all of the advisors there, I could confidently conclude that the advisors at Pace University are more than adequate; not taking advantage of such great resources would be irrational! The new class schedule is up on the Pace website and I encourage everyone to get in contact with their advisors for guidance. Remember that you are not losing anything by asking for help, and we all know how strenuous course registration can be!

Moving forward, this week the Sophomore Scoop Series is hosting an event regarding a mini-health fair assessment. With all of the inconsistencies in the weather around this time of year, many of us are prone to the common cold and even the flu. University Health Care will be running a table in the Well of the Kessel Student Center on Wednesday, October 28th, from 11am – 2pm checking height, weight, blood pressure, body mass index, and even UHC diabetes & Anemia screenings! Often times we forget to take note of our blood pressure or we just don’t have the time to check in with our doctors as much as we would like to. Good thing Pace has your back!

Aside from the free services, the University Health Care Center will be giving away bottles of hand sanitizer to emphasize the importance of cleanliness during a season plagued with the flu virus! If you show up, we’ll even enter you into a raffle with a grand prize of Halloween treats!

Coming from a student dedicated to helping his colleagues, I strongly encourage everyone to come out and take advantage of this rare opportunity! Hope to see you all there!
