The nervous jitters and excited energy of back to school are not only reserved for many of the flustered freshmen, I am in the same boat as well. The thing is my anticipation is not caused by not knowing if by some chance I will get along with the random stranger that I was assigned to live with, or if I packed enough of my clothes. You won’t find me in Target or Bed Bath and Beyond buying room décor that will match at least 3 of the residents' on my floor. I already have met a lot of people that I call friends, I have my sorority, and I am a part of a diverse group of student organizations, so I am not nervous about my social life. I pretty much know how to navigate the university, so no tour guide needed for me.

My nervous energy comes from all the decisions I have to make considering my limited time in college. It’s time I buckle down and figure out what it is I am going to do with my life. I am a Political Science major, and a Chinese minor (Well sort of, it’s not offered as a minor, but I am working on it), and I’m going into my junior year. I honestly can’t believe it, I feel like I was just at orientation. I am currently trying to figure out what country I should study abroad in, and which internships will help me decide what I want to do with the rest of my life. I don’t have the liberty to explore as much as I did, the time has come, the second half of college. We’ll see if I am really ready.

But like all of the incoming students, I’m excited for all the new memories that I am going to make, and all the new friends that are sure to come. I am excited to see what comes next. So if you see me walking down Shirley Beth’s Way, don’t be afraid to say hello, let’s make each other’s college experience a wonderful one. Until the next time. . .
