Federal Reserve Challenge Team

The Pace University Federal Reserve Team is an award-winning team that is comprised of only Dyson College Economics and Business Economics majors. For three years in a row (2012, 2013, 2014), the team won the regional competition, besting more than 30 colleges in NY Fed District, including Columbia and NYU. In 2014, the team won the 11th national College Federal Reserve Challenge competition, besting Princeton and University of Chicago. Pace’s win was the first for the NY Fed District in the history of the College Fed Challenge.

College Federal Reserve Challenge is a competition that tests students’ understanding of the U.S. economy, monetary policymaking, and the role of the Federal Reserve System. Participating teams analyze economic and financial conditions and formulate a monetary policy recommendation, modeled on the work of the Federal Open Market Committee. Teams competing in the finals give 15-minute presentations and answer questions for a panel of senior Federal Reserve officials.
