Producing the Documentary
-
In the Spring of 2010, Dr. Luskay was given the approval from the state department to shoot a video on the American Ambassador to Holland, Fay Hartog Levin. We spent the beginning of the semester in pre-production doing the research necessary before going to the Netherlands. We spent the week of Spring Break in The Hague and were given special permission to follow the Ambassador for the week. This included shooting in the American Embassy, her Residence, and the Peace Palace. These areas do not normally allow cameras but Pace was given special permission to do so. This was by far an opportunity of a lifetime. The video will be used by the state department for promotional material and we will enter it into student competitions in the Fall.
The MA students also kept a blog that detailed the trip at http://hollanddocumentary.blogspot.com/.
