Environmental Studies, BA (NYC, PLV)
Environmental issues touch most aspects of our lives. Dyson College’s environmental studies program covers key issues (population, pollution, poverty, biodiversity, and resource use) with the goal of equipping you with the knowledge and skills needed to help find solutions. Our interdisciplinary approach provides the educational vehicle to thoroughly examine issues from a variety of perspectives – economic, ethical, political, historical, scientific, and theological. Our graduates have gone on to careers in environmental law, environmental journalism, environmental education, and have worked as lobbyists on the state and federal level. The environmental studies major can be combined with a Pace Law degree or Master’s of Public Administration. Completion time for each combined degree program is one year less than pursuing an advanced degree after earning a bachelor’s degree.
Philosophy & Religious Studies, BA (NYC)
IPhilosophy is the love of wisdom, the pursuit of knowledge, critical analysis for what we think we know about ourselves, our society, our universe. In this uncertain world we live in, it is more important than ever to understand the beliefs of others. By finding out how others think and reason, our own world can become more meaningful for us.
Our program lets you combine a broad survey of major figures and ideas in philosophy as well as in the major world religions, with in-depth studies of those figures and ideas that you find particularly attractive. You may emphasize either philosophy or religious studies and pursue a course of study that prepares you to go to graduate school or directly into a rewarding career.
