Alumnus John Sbordone ’74, President, MetaBEV, Inc. has developed flavor systems for 205 commercial products during his career in the beverage flavoring industry. Faculty and Students learned how chemistry plays a vital role in creating great tasting products and how MetaBEV provides product formulation services for powder mixes, ready-to-drink dairy and non-dairy products.

Alumnus Tom Mansley BS ’89, MBA ’90, Chief Investment Officer, Singleterry Mansley Asset Management Company, discussed the importance of math within the financial services industry with students of Dr. Charles Masiello’s Elementary Statistics class. He also spent time discussing his career from Chase Manhattan Bank after graduation, to WestLB, Seix Advisors and Singleterry Mansley.

Professor Awarded NEH Fellowship

Sarah Blackwood, Assistant Professor of English and Director of the American Studies Program in Dyson College of Arts and Sciences, has been awarded a National Endowment for the Humanities fellowship to participate in a NEH Summer Institute: The Visual Culture of the Civil War, a two-week seminar with experts in the field of nineteenth-century visual culture and visits to various New York City archives.

The Pace University Lower Manhattan campus is adding a 47,200-square-foot home for its growing Performing Arts Department. On Jan. 6, the university signed a 21-year lease for 140 William St., where renovations, to be completed in the fall, will house rehearsal spaces, classrooms, a television studio and a 100-seat theater.

The BA in Theater Arts/Directing Concentration program is based on creative strategies for students to learn, deepen, and greatly broaden their skills in narrative storytelling and dramatic action in various modes of theatrical expression. The goal is to develop a distinctive voice and perspective that brings to the boards hands-on experience in both commercial and not-for-profit theatre.

The Bachelor of Arts (BA) program in Theater/ Commercial Dance is the only one of its kind in New York City and offers comprehensive dance training to bridge the gap from classical dance technique to the professional world of commercial dance.
