Gary Mair is co-founder and partner at Anchor Risk Advisors. Anchor represents Institutional investors interested in the buying and selling of insurance linked securities that cover catastrophic events such as: earthquakes, tornadoes, and hurricanes.
Prior to Anchor, Gary was the former Principal to Fund Advisor, a firm specializing in providing advisory services in strategic business, operational, and legal matters to both emerging and well known global asset management firms.
Prior to Fund Advisor, Gary was a C-level Legal and Business Executive at Nikko Alternative Asset Management, the U.S. subsidiary to one of the largest asset management firms in Japan. Gary was instrumental in restructuring NAAM’s U.S. alternative asset management subsidiaries and building the teams to support operations for several global alternative asset management firms.
Prior to NAAM, Gary was an Executive and General Counsel to CooperNeff Advisors, the U.S. alternative asset management subsidiary of BNP Paribas. At BNP, Gary was instrumental in the launch of one of the first insurance-linked strategies offered in the U.S.
Prior to BNP, Gary managed an entrepreneurial New York law firm’s internet securities practice representing start-up venture capital, hedge fund and Internet companies from inception to Initial Public Offering. During this period, Gary launched the first of its kind SEC registered Internet public offerings (noted in the Wall Street Journal and on CNBC).
Gary commenced his career as an in-house securities attorney for McMahan Securities and its affiliate, Argent Management, a former leading convertible arbitrage asset management Firm.
Gary holds a B.S. and Master’s Degree from Pace University, J.D., Quinnipiac University School of Law, and is admitted as an attorney in the States of New York and Pennsylvania.
