"As soon as I came to Pace, I knew that I would grow into the student and person I wanted to become."
– Angelica Roman, Class of 2019

As soon as I came to Pace, I knew that I would grow into the student and person I wanted to become. I am a Philosophy and Religious Studies major, and have always considered philosophy, in particular, to be an extraordinarily thought-provoking field of study. As a student, I have been quite involved in extracurricular activities, such as being president of the first and second year National Honor Societies, a freshman peer mentor, and member of both the Criminal Justice Society and Student Government Association. Last summer, I completed two courses as part of the Duke University Summer Institute Law and Policy program in Washington, DC, a wonderful opportunity which I learned of through Pace. In addition, as part of the ‪Office of the Provost Undergraduate Student-Faculty Research Program, I was privileged to work with professor Elliot Hearst to share the story of Holocaust refugee Elisabeth Rodrigues Lopes de la Pena, shedding light on a largely unknown story of heroism, sacrifice, and survival. Upon graduation, I plan to attend law school. However, I want to be more than successful, but create something meaningful in the world
