NYC - Writing Center

The Writing Center NYC seeks to support Pace University students through one-on-one, interactive tutoring. To this extent, we help students develop as independent writers and critical editors of their own work. We do not edit students’ work but educate them on the nuances of the composition process in the context of their own writing. In addition, WCNYC sets out to help students with a myriad of writing needs, from brainstorming to revision and citations and in a variety of disciplines. Our well-prepared peer and faculty tutors apply a responsive teaching method and Minimalist, hands-off approach to tutoring writing needs in any discipline and are trained to work with both native and non-native speakers of English. In order to best serve students and faculty, we adhere strictly to the standards and practices of Pace University and the global principles of the Modern Language Association (MLA) and American Psychology Association (APA).
