Combined Degree Programs and Certificate Programs
In addition to the MPA degree, the Public Administration Department also offers combined degree programs with undergraduate programs and other graduate and professional programs.
Undergraduate BA majors in Economics, Environmental Studies, History, or Political Science may consider this accelerated dual-degree undergraduate / graduate program that will prepare students for leadership and management positions in government, health care, and nonprofit organizations by integrating relevant theory with practice. Full-time students may complete this program in five years, thus saving one year of full-time study by taking 12 graduate credits in their undergraduate senior year. Learn more.
Pace University’s Department of Public Administration and School of Law together make available to qualified students a dual-degree accelerated program intended to enhance career possibilities in law, government, public interest organizations, health care, and related fields. The reciprocal acceptance of course credits by each school enables students to complete the requirements for both degrees in four years rather than the usual five years were each degree pursued separately.
Students must make separate application to both programs and gain independent admission to both before pursuing the joint program. Interested MPA students must submit their applications prior to the completion of 12 MPA credits. The exact course of study will be determined after joint consultation with an accepted student’s MPA and law school advisors. Learn more
Interested MPA students should see the Public Administration Department chair or Program Manager.
The MPA program at Pace University offers 15-credit certificate programs for professionals seeking to enhance their credentials, but may not be ready to fully commit to a master’s program. The certificate can be completed in one year and all credits count toward the completion of the MPA degree.
Certificate programs include:
- Healthcare Policy and Management
- Long Term Care Management and Practice
- Nonprofit Management, with focus areas in:
Managerial Skills Enhancement
