
Professor Ryan Testifies before Congress
Professor and Chairperson, Criminal Justice and Sociology, Joseph Ryan, PhD, national expert on community policing and police management related issues and retired New York City police detective, testified before the House of Representatives Subcommittee on National Security, Emerging Threats, and International Relations on March 28. The hearing examined how the Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) resources can be used more effectively and cohesively in the interest of national security. Ryan was asked to offer his expertise on the application of risk management and outcome-based performance monitoring in the interest of national security, and offer recommendations.
