Dean`s Message
Dean Nira Herrmann, PhD
As you see in this issue, Dyson College faculty and students are winning awards and accolades for their numerous achievements. We are especially proud of our Fulbright Scholarship winners and the award-winning Model United Nations Teams.
Without the right facilities and the help of our supporters, we would not be able to provide the excellent education and opportunities for our faculty and students to succeed. Thus, we are especially gratified by the continuing support of the Dyson family, beginning with Charles H. Dyson, after whom our college is named. Charles Dyson graduated from Pace in 1930, returned as a member of the university Board of Trustees, and eventually became the Board Chair.
Robert Dyson, his son, through the Dyson Foundation has just contributed the third largest gift in Pace’s history, continuing the relationship of the college with his family. This kind of dedication over the generations is what our recently announced Capital Campaign is all about—maintaining connections, providing support, and investing in the new generation at Dyson and Pace. We hope you, too, will join in a continuing relationship with Dyson by contributing to the Capital Campaign. We are building an endowment that will provide support for faculty and students, enabling each of them to grow and flourish in a fertile environment for ideas, scholarship and lasting friendships.
If you would like to join us or contribute in any way, please contact Adrienne Capps, Dyson’s Director of Development (acapps@pace.edu; 212-346-1907) or me (nherrmann@pace.edu)—we would love to help you define the best way for you to participate and rejoin the Dyson College family.
