Pace Performing Arts' Sneak Peak Open House
On April 12, the Pace community was invited to the preview opening of Pace Performing Arts’ new, state-of-the-art facility at 140 William Street, just steps away from Pace’s Lower Manhattan campus. Pace Performing Arts students led guided tours of the entire six-floor facility including the dance, acting, and movement studios; sound stage; costume shop; computer aided design lab; and performance spaces. Performing Arts students, faculty and staff were on hand to answer questions and light refreshments were served.
Renovations of the building began in early summer 2012 and were made possible, in part, by a $1 million grant from the Lower Manhattan Development Corporation. The building opened for classroom use in January of this year. An official ribbon-cutting is planned for the fall.
“I’m impressed with the size and layout of the new space, and am looking forward to seeing some great performances come out of these studios,” said Alexandria Hadden, instructor with the English Language Institute.
