This year’s 10th Annual Dyson Distinguished Achievements Awards, whose proceeds support the Dyson College scholarship fund, and faculty excellence and program enhancement, was an evening of genial camaraderie and a heartfelt tribute to its honorees’ contributions to society. “Our honorees embody the very same ideals that Dyson College encourages in its students and strives to demonstrate to the communities within which it resides and serves,” says Dean Nira Herrmann.
The celebration, which took place on April 6 at the industrial chic Tribeca Rooftop restaurant, honored Gloria Steinem, Contributing Editor, Ms. magazine, for Distinguished Leadership in the Arts and Humanities; Howard Cash, President, Gene Codes Corporation, for Distinguished Leadership in the Sciences; Karla Jay, Ph.D., Distinguished Professor of English, with the Distinguished Faculty Award; and Henry J. Dondero, DDS, ‘69, Professor of Dental Hygiene, Farmingdale State University of New York, with the Distinguished Alumnus Award.
Says Dean Nira Herrmann, “As our signature event, this awards ceremony provides a platform to honor some of the most accomplished leaders, alumni and educators who demonstrate their continued dedication to enhancing the arts and sciences education at Pace University and in the community.”
