Student Poster in Research Exposition
— Vanessa Savino ‘08
Vanessa Savino ‘08, business economics major, was chosen to be among 70 students to have a poster of her senior thesis on the “Evolution of Central Banking in China” displayed at the Undergraduate Research Exposition on January 22. The one-day event brought together college students, faculty, and New York State legislators to showcase high quality research posters. This event was sponsored by the Commission on Independent Colleges and Universities, which represents the chief executives of New York State’s independent colleges and universities on issues of public policy.
Savino’s thesis was supervised by Economics Lecturer Mark Weinstock, who attended the exposition in Albany, New York. Also a Pforzheimer Honors College student, she represented Pace in the annual Federal Reserve Challenge in 2005, 2006, and 2007, with Lecturer Weinstock’s guidance.
Savino adds, “Following graduation, I will be employed by the New York Federal Reserve as a research associate in the financial intermediation function of the Research and Statistics Group of the central bank branch.”
