ENGLISH PROF. GETS NYFA ARTIST FELLOWSHIP

Brice Particelli, professor and assistant chair of the New York City English department was recently awarded a $7,000 grant award in Nonfiction Literature from the 2017 New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) Artist Fellowship.

 

DYSON ALUMNUS NAMED FULBRIGHT SCHOLAR

Matthew Mainzer ’17, a double major in Economics and Political Science, has been awarded a prestigious Fulbright Award, which provides students—chosen for their academic merit and leadership potential—with the opportunity to study, conduct research, and teach abroad. He will teach English in Serbia during the 2017-2018 academic year.

 

INSIDE THE ACTORS STUDIO GETS EMMY NOM.

Inside the Actors Studio has been nominated for its 20th Emmy Award for “Outstanding Informational Series or Special.” Filmed on Pace’s New York City campus, the long-running series serves as the craft seminar for students of The Actors Studio Drama School at Pace University. Host and executive producer James Lipton said, “It is a milestone for which we have our distinguished guests to thank. This remarkable moment is dedicated to them, the artists, and to the dreamers – the students of our Actors Studio Drama School at Pace University.”

 

JOHN CRONIN INTERVIEWED ON CBS NEWS

Senior Fellow for Environmental Affairs John Cronin was interviewed on CBS News about an increase in whale sightings in New York City waters. Cronin sees the increase in marine life as a sign of less pollution and cleaner, healthier waters. “We are seeing some biological rejuvenation,” he said, crediting the Clean Water Act of 1972, which spawned decades of cleanup. He now advocates for an update to the act and an increase in EPA funding from the current administration.
