Biography


Charles North has published eleven books of poems, most recently Complete Lineups; What It is Like: New and Selected Poems, which headed NPR's Best Poetry of 2011 list; and Translation. He has also done collaborative works with artists and other poets; and essays on poets, artists and critics. With James Schuyler, he edited the anthologies Broadway and Broadway 2. His poetry has appeared in more than thirty anthologies and he has received numerous honors for his writing, including two NEA Fellowships and a Foundation for the Arts Individual Artist's Grant. He is a Faculty Advisor to Aphros, the Pace literary magazine, and teaches courses in poetry writing and literature in Dyson and in the Pforzheimer Honors college. He founded and directs Poets@ Pace, which brings noted writers to Pace each semester.
