Abbey L. Berg, Ph.D. has been a member of the Pace faculty since 1999 and is also an Assistant Director in the College of Physicians & Surgeons, Columbia University. She received her B.A. from The George Washington University, M.S. in Audiology from Purdue University, and Ph.D. in hearing Science from Columbia University. Dr. Berg is a member of and holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). In addition to belonging to ASHA, Dr. Berg is also a member of the American Auditory Society and the New York State Speech-Language-Hearing Association as well as a Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology. Dr. Berg has been the recipient of several grants from the New York State Department of Health/Maternal and Child Health and the Center for Disease Control & Prevention. Currently, she has been awarded by the Center for Disease Control & Prevention a grant investigating the prevalence and surveillance of developmental disabilities in rural Bangladesh. She is also the Director of the Early Hearing Detection and Identification Program for the New York Presbyterian Hospitals in New York City.
Dr. John A. Haskell has been Clinic Coordinator of the Pace University Speech and Hearing Center since 1995. He received his Masters and Doctoral degrees from Columbia University, and is certified as a speech-language pathologist by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. Dr. Haskell has maintained a private practice in New York City for many years, specializing in the treatment of voice and fluency disorders.
Dr. Mary Ann Murphy is a graduate of the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. She joined the faculty of Pace University in 1994. Her research focuses on elaborating the connection between social cognition and communicative behavioral displays. Her research has been published in journals such as: Human Communication Research, Communication Research, and the Journal of Business Communication. Dr. Murphy’s areas of teaching specialization include Communication Theory, Organizational Communication, Language Acquisition, and Instructional Communication. She teaches courses in Conflict Resolution, Messages in the Organization, Language and Power, Business and Professional Communication. Currently, in addition to her faculty duties, Dr. Murphy is also serving as Director of the Center for Community Outreach, a program in the Dyson College of Arts and Sciences that encourages university and community partnerships through volunteer events and service-learning classes. |
