Program Outline

The Business and English Language Certificate Program is comprised 50hrs of Professional English instruction and 90hrs of Introductory Business courses.  Students that have a less specific interest in business will benefit from taking a combination of courses that will introduce them to areas of Finance, Marketing, and Entrepreneurship.




Classes will be held at the lower Manhattan campus of Pace University.  Conveniently located in the center of the New York City Financial District, Pace University is an ideal location for students interested in learning more about business world to study and have access to within walking distance.  The University is located across the street from City Hall, adjacent to the Brooklyn Bridge, and a 5 minute walk from Wall Street and the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE).  There are 13 subway lines that stop at the University providing easy access to other neighborhoods and sightseeing attractions in New York City.

Program cost is $6,900.00 (room and board not included).  Students are responsible for securing their own housing.  Housing guidance is available.


Additional Program Items

Students will be welcomed with an Orientation upon arrival at the University.  At this Orientation they will meet Faculty, ELI and Lubin School Administrators, and get a preview of what they will be learning in their classes.  There will also be an F-1 Visa & Immigration meeting to explain the rules of maintaining F-1 status while living in New York City.


Cultural Activities

Throughout the program students may participate in organized activities by the ELI Student Life Coordinator focusing on American Culture.  These activities will allow for practicing English outside of the classroom and interacting with other International students studying at Pace University.  Activities may include:  Sporting Events, Guided Museum Trips, Volunteering in the NYC community, Sightseeing excursions, English Conversation Partner Programs, and Company visits.
