Qualtrics

If you are having any issues with Qualtrics or need help creating a survey, please email Ally Kimmel or call at (212) 346-1471.

Attention Faculty, Staff, and Students: SSO Implementation

All Pace members are now able to sign into Qualtrics using their MyPace Portal credentials. You no longer need to memorize a separate username and password for Qualtrics.

Users who are already using Qualtrics and would like to sign in with their Pace credentials, need to follow the below steps:

  • Login to Qualtrics with your Pace credentials
  • Select the option that says "I already have a Qualtrics account"
  • Enter in your old account username and password and click on Migrate Account.

All your surveys will remain active and will be moved over to your Pace account during the migration.

For questions or support, please contact Ally Kimmel: akimmel@pace.edu or facultycenter@pace.edu | (212) 346-1471.

Policy Statement

The proliferation of surveys to Pace University constituents raises concerns such as  student privacy, protection of human subjects, and questionnaire fatigue from oversurveying the same groups or distributing multiple surveys at the same time, which may conflict with large, institutional surveys. This policy describes a clear process and protocol for administering surveys to faculty, students, administrators and staff. The Office of Planning, Assessment and Institutional Research (OPAIR) is responsible for the administration of this policy.

What is Qualtrics?

Qualtrics is a free web-based survey software for faculty, staff, and students.

In partnership with the Faculty Center for Innovative Teaching and Professional Development, the Office of the Provost is pleased to make Qualtrics, an entirely web-based, self-service internet survey system, available to support research, teaching, and administration at Pace University. Qualtrics was selected by a group of faculty and staff because it combines exceptional ease of use with an advanced set of features.

FAQ

Q: Do I have to migrate my account? Do I have to log in with my Pace credentials?
A: You do not have to migrate your account or log in with your Pace credentials. You may continue logging in with your current username and password. But if you wish to log in with your Pace credentials, you need to:

  • Log in to Qualtrics with your Pace credentials
  • Select the option that says "I already have a Qualtrics account"
  • Enter in your old account username and password and click on Migrate Account.

Q: What happens if I have a survey that is already running?

A: Still follow the above steps and all the surveys will remain active and will be moved over to your Pace account. Data collection will not be affected by the change.

Q: How do I log in using my Pace credentials?
A: Make sure to go to Qualtrics through the Pace website rather than going straight to Qualtrics and then follow the above steps. After that you can directly log in to Qualtrics through the Pace website with your Pace credentials.

Q: What if I can’t remember my password?
A: Go to Qualtrics and click "Forgot?" in the password section to reset your old password. Once the password has been reset, log in to Qualtrics through the Pace website and follow the steps to migrate your account if you wish to switch over to using Pace credentials (the SSO).

Q: If I am experiencing issues after migrating my account: missing surveys, etc., what steps do I take next? Who can I contact for assistance?
A: The most common issue after migrating accounts happens when a user clicks on "I don't have an account" when they should have clicked on "I already have an account". If this happens contact the Brand Administrator, Ally Kimmel at akimmel@pace.edu.

Q: Will new users be able to request an account? Or will they be able to just log in?
A: Users with Pace credentials will be able to just log in. The first time a user logs in through SSO, they will see a prompt which will ask them if they already have an existing account or not. From there, they can choose to create a new account.

Q: What if I don’t have a Qualtrics account through my Pace email, can I still migrate my account so in the future I can log in with my Pace email?
A: Yes. You can link up your existing account by going to Qualtrics through the Pace website after SSO is enabled, logging in with your Pace credentials, and then clicking on "I already have an account."  You will be prompted to enter in your existing Qualtrics account's username and password (Gmail, for example). Then click on Migrate Account. After you've done this, subsequent login attempts through the SSO portal will require only that you enter in your Pace credentials, and you will be logged straight in to your existing account.

Q: If a user is collaborating with another user on a survey, and only one user merges their account, how will this influence the survey?
A: This will not influence the users or the survey. Users are "migrating" within Pace, so there isn't any actual transfer of data between accounts, just a changing of the username. So nothing except the format of the username will be affected.

Q: What if after I merge my accounts I don’t see my surveys?
A: Contact the Brand Administrator: Ally Kimmel at akimmel@pace.edu.

Q: How do I create a new account?
A: Go to Qualtrics through the Pace website and click "I don't have an account."  Log in with your Pace credentials.

Q: What if my log in is not through my name, but instead through my department? For example, Faculty Center is using facultycenter as their username and facultycenter@pace.edu as the email log in. Can I migrate my account to the SSO?
A: No, you cannot log in through SSO, but you will be able log in to Qualtrics as you have been doing, as opposed to going through the SSO portal.

Q: Can people not affiliated with Pace log in? Can they still access everything from qualtrics.com?
A: Users without Pace credentials will be able to continue to log in through Qualtrics and collaborate with Pace users.
