The Modern Odyssey

Course Description:

Fly direct from NYC and spend 3 nights at a 4-star hotel in Athens, one of the world’s oldest cities. Visit the Acropolis site and the Acropolis museum, the National Archaeological museum, and the Temple of Zeus. Enjoy an extended afternoon tour of Cape Sounion, the site of ruins of the ancient Greek temple of Poseidon, the god of the sea in classical mythology. Next, embark on a 4-day Louis Hellenic Cruise to the Greek Islands and Turkey including Ephesus, Mykonos, Crete, Rhodes, and Patmos. Then, spend 2 nights in a 3-star hotel in wondrous Nauplion, the first capital of Modern Greece. Tour Mycenae, the historical setting of the epic of Homer and other ancient Greek literature and myths, and Epidaurus, an ancient site with a preserved amphitheatre that still hosts Greek dramas. Your final night will include a group dinner at a local restaurant in Nauplion and then you’ll depart for Athens airport in the morning for your return to NYC.

$3,300 includes roundtrip airfare from NYC to Athens, ground transportationwhile in Greece, academic excursions, all breakfasts, and a 4-day cruise including mealsand port taxes. A $1,000 deposit to hold your air ticket and hotels is due byDecember 1, 2012and the balance is due no later than January 15, 2013. Studentsshould budget for additional funds for meals and other incidentals.
