A World of Opportunities * 12:20-1:15pm * Location: Kessel C/D * Students will learn about prestigious national and international scholarship and fellowship opportunities that relate to the types of research in which they are interested. Trip to The American Museum of Natural History Friday, April 12th * Bus leaves at 10:00AM, will return by 3:00PM * By reservation only * Cost: $5.00 Honors Open Meeting * Come and share your ideas for future Honors events and Honors courses with Dr. Chiffriller and fellow Honors students. * Common Hour, 12:20-1:15 * Location: TBA The Island President: Wednesday, April 17th, 2013 Occupy the Hudson: 24 Hours for the Future We Want to Create Friday, April 19th * Location: Wilcox Gym * 24 Hour Sleep-Over The Walk for World Water * The Walk for World Water fundraiser is designed to educate students about the people across the world, largely women and children, who must walk for hours just to reach clean water each day. Participants will carry containers of water in a public display of solidarity with those forced to do so. * We are aiming to take this walk to the heart of Pleasantville to the centrally-located Memorial Plaza. We are currently negotiating sponsorships and plan to raise enough money to build a well in a community that needs it. Clean Water Act Mock Hearing * Hosting a mock hearing of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee on reformation of the nation's 40 year-old Clean Water Act (CWA). * Student participants will improve their team-building, research, public-speaking, and other professional skills in addition to gaining familiarity with public policy, US government, and environmental issues. * A winning team will be selected based on the strength of their work and the feasibility of their recommendations. Honors Independent Research Conference * 6:00-8:00pm * Location: Kessel Conference Rooms * Come listen to fellow Honors College students speak eloquently about the results of their Independent Research. If you are interested in presenting a paper or project, please contact the Honors College Office at (914)773-3848 Honors Awards Dinner * 6:00-8:00PM… Dinner will be served * Location: Wilcox Gym * *Reservations required*Dinner will be served. * Graduating seniors will receive their Honors medallions (to be worn at graduation) and their Honors College certificates. This event is open only to graduating seniors of the Pforzheimer Honors College.
