korenajohnson             Korena Johnson is a 21-year-old Political Science major. A native of Friendswood, Texas, Korena enrolled at Pace University and the Pforzheimer Honors College in the Fall of 2005. Currently in her fourth and final undergraduate year here at Pace, she plans to pursue a M.A. in International Law and Human Rights as well as a J.D. in International Law. What does her future hold with such degrees? Korena says, “I hope to work as a US Foreign Service Officer. As a FSO, I would work in U.S. Embassies abroad in order to advise the U.S. Government on international policies.”

This past summer, Korena demonstrated her desire to live abroad. She studied Arabic in an intensive program at the American University in Cairo, Egypt. However, she did not use her time abroad only for study, she says, “In between classes and studying, I filmed interviews with Iraqi refugees.”

At Pace, Korena plays volleyball and serves as the Vice President of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee. She says, “As Vice President of SAAC, I am responsible for finance and overseeing sub committees.” When busy Korena actually has some free time, she loves to see Broadway shows.

She offers this advice to her classmates: “Don’t stress about the future.”
