Salvatore Antolos
Sal Antolos, a 21 year old from Williston Park, NY (on Long Island), is in his fourth year at Pace. While he plans to walk at Graduation in May, he will complete a fifth year to obtain a combined BA/MBA in Accounting. Confident in his future career plans, Sal hopes to work in auditing.
Over the summer, Sal held an internship position at KPMG in Manhattan, one of the largest accounting firms in the world. Not only have they agreed to keep him on part-time for the next year, but he will also begin working at KPMG full-time upon receiving his MBA in 2010. He says, “I work on sensitive documents that have to do with the planning of this business unit. I enjoy working there.” His future career goals include working at KPMG for about five to seven years before opening his own firm or business.
Sal has been a member of the Pforzheimer Honors College since his first year, 2005. He says, “When I came to Pace, I knew I wanted to get involved in something important, so that I could get the most out of my collegiate experience.” He did just that in pledging to his fraternity, Delta Upsilon International Fraternity, and obtaining various leadership positions. Last year, he increased his role of involvement in the Student Association with a promotion from Vice President of Finance to President. Through this experience, he says he was, “able to meet and interact with many of the administrators at Pace University, including some board of trustee members.” Also, Sal serves as treasurer for Delta Upsilon, as well as the NIC, North-American Interfraternity Conference, a “sub-governingboard for most of the fraternities recognized on campus.”
Sal offers this advice to his fellow classmates, “take every opportunity Pace throws at you and run with it. I was involved in just about everything I could get my hands on, with student government, to various planning committees. I think that all of these things are great experiences for students, and they will really enhance the college experience and help people grow as both a scholar and an individual. Your time in school is what you make of it, and the more you do will only benefit you in the future, as it did with me.”
