He joined Honors as an incoming first-year student in the Fall of 2003. Ronit has tested the waters of several different organizations at Pace and is happy to have had a variety of experiences.
You might notice Ronit’s name by his byline in Scholastica, The Paw Print, or Vox. Ronit is always happy to volunteer. “I like to write,” he tells us, and it shows. Ronit is also a member of the Criminal Justice Society and the Biology Honors Society.
Ronit was a tour guide for the Welcome Center his first year at Pace. “I was interested in getting involved in campus activities and meeting different students,” he says. Since being employed, Ronit has had the chance to meet with different prospective students, show them around campus, and answer their questions about the University. He’s also been able to share his own personal experiences with his tour groups, explaining, “I enjoyed everything about being a tour guide.”
Ronit also has volunteered at New York Presbyterian Hospital. “I was interested in pursuing a career in the healthcare/medical field, and wanted to gain experience in the clinical setting, so I applied for a position as a volunteer,” he says. While volunteering, Ronit had the chance to interact with patients and learn about patient management and care. “Because I had volunteered in the psychiatric division of the hospital, I learned a lot about different psychiatric problems.”
We have to agree that Ronit is ambitious. He wants to apply for medical school after he graduates this May. “After college, I want to gain more experience in the healthcare field by working at a hospital or clinic,” he says. “I feel extremely lucky that I have a lot opportunities to do a lot of great things in the future."
Ronit is happy as he thinks about graduation and reminisces about his four years at Pace. “These four years that I have had at Pace have been rewarding, exciting, and fulfilling. I have made a lot of friends and have participated in a lot of different activities,” he says and adds, “I will miss Pace when I graduate.”
