Ice Cream Icebreaker

Ice Cream Ice Breaker
Wednesday, September 26, 2007

On Wednesday, September 26, 2007, 115 Honors students met in the Gottesman Room of Kessel Student Center for the annual Honors Ice Cream Ice Breaker. Inside, a table covered in ice cream flavors ranging from vanilla to pumpkin to neopolitan awaited them. There was no shortage of toppings either: caramel sauce, chocolate sauce, rainbow sprinkles, marshmallow Fluff, and more were readily available to create the perfect ice cream sundae. Students were strongly encouraged by Dr. Benton to make their own ice cream sundaes, eat them, and then come back for seconds. Once everyone got their fair share, students were seated for brief presentations by different Pace University honor societies. Along with the honor societies’ presentations, the Ad Team, a student representative for the UNICEF C.H.I.L.D. Project, our Michael DeRario, and the Center for Community Outreach also spoke to Honors students. When asked about the Ice Cream Ice Breaker, junior Honors student, Patrick Conklin, says, “It was a good time because I got to eat good ice cream, while learning about many honor societies on campus that I would not have known about if I did not go.”  After the presentations were finished, Honors students left with big smiles and full stomachs.
