Open Meeting

Open Meeting
Monday, March 13, 2006

On Monday, March 13, 2006, the Honors College held another successful Open Meeting.  Ninety-two students packed Gottesman Room to feast on a huge variety of ice cream, toppings, and punch while listening to guest speaker Associate Provost Dr. Beverly Kahn.
Dr. Kahn spoke to students about the hidden opportunities of Pace, emphasizing the study abroad program and encouraging students to take a travel course.  Dr. Kahn referred to Honors students as the future world leaders and told them that to get a true understanding of the “real world” that they had to leave Pace and explore.  The combination of a Pace education and real world experience is what will make everyone excel.  She also told students to “get a real job this summer” and encouraged all to visit Co-Op for such an opportunity.
Dr. Benton then took the podium to discuss events and classes for the Fall 2006 and Spring 2007 semesters.  Some events mentioned included a Broadway play or a museum visit.  Class ideas included travel courses taught by Dr. Benton and a graphic design learning community.
