Easter Egg Hunt

            On Saturday, April 4^th, children from the Pleasantville Cottage School came to Pace University to participate in their very own Easter Egg Hunt.  Before any actual races began, the children decorated eggs in the Gottesman Room within the Kessel Student Center on the Pleasantville campus.  The PCS children got very creative with their colors and stickers to produced some unique Easter eggs with the help of Honors College students.  Smiles were quickly displayed throughout the room at only the beginning of the day.

            Once all the eggs were decorated, the children were asked to divide into five different teams to compete in the egg hunt.  Teams where then assigned a color and the instructions and rules of the egg hunt were given: each team would have one representative run out into the field to find their color eggs and bring back only one egg, then the next person would go find another until all of the eggs were found.  Honors College Advisor, Prof. Christopher Walther, then brought all of the young men outside to the field between Kessel and Miller Hall, where hundreds of eggs had been hidden earlier that morning.  The first member of each team stepped up to the starting line and was sent off into the field. 

            After about an hour of searching, laughter, and even some stumbles, the Yellow team won the race.  The children thought their day was done, but they still had one more activity left: the very respected egg toss.  All Honors College students and PCS children went back to the patio outside of Gottesman and took part in the egg toss.  The children enjoyed this event almost as much as the egg hunt as it was filled with laughter and big smiles. 

            Once a champion was crowned for the egg toss, everyone was brought back into Gottesman to receive their prizes and candy from the egg hunt.  After pictures were taken, the PCS children put their jackets on and said goodbye to all their friends from the Honors College with high hopes for the next fun event.
