Womens Basketball Game

Women’s Basketball Game

Every spring semester, Honors students attend a Pace University Women’s Basketball game with the Pleasantville Cottage School children.  This tradition has become a favorite event amongst both the Honors students and the children from the Pleasantville Cottage School.

This game occurred on Sunday, February 8th and the Pace Setters were up against St. Michael’s College.  Honors students arrived shortly before the game to reserve front row seats for their guests.  When the Pleasantville Cottage School children entered the gym, they had huge smiles on their faces.  Honors Advisor, Prof. Christopher Walther walked the children down towards the Honors students who were waiting for them.

The game started at 1:30pm sharp.  The children from the Pleasantville Cottage School quickly got into the spirit of the game and began cheering for the home team.  The game was filled with exciting moments as both teams went back and forth in scoring three-pointers.  As the game went on, Pace began to take control of the game and eventually pulled ahead. The final outcome of the game was an 84-72 victory for the Setters, much to the delight of the Honors students as well as the children of the Pleasantville Cottage School.

The day was a huge success, as usual.  Everyone in attendance had a great time watching the game.  The interaction with the children enhanced the enjoyment of the game for the Honors students as the gym was filled with laughter and enthusiasm.  After the game concluded, the Honors students said their goodbyes and received thanks from their young friends at the Pleasantville Cottage School.
