Room Selection: Gender Neutral Housing

In keeping with the mission of Pace University to promote and support diversity, the Office of Housing and Residential Life in New York City offers Gender Neutral Housing options to students who demonstrate an interest in and need for such accommodation.

This process seeks to provide a living environment welcoming to all gender identities; one not limited by the traditional gender binary. Gender neutral housing allows for same-gender, opposite-gender, non-gender or other-gender identities to live together regardless of biological sex in a Platonic environment in which they feel safe and supported.

To apply for Gender Neutral housing, please download and complete this Gender Neutral Housing Application Packet.  This packet contains:

  • Submit one GENDER NEUTRAL GROUP FORM (this page) per group
  • Submit one PARTICIPANT FORM AND AGREEMENT per group member
    • Includes separate essay (be sure to include name and U# on essay)
  • Submit one PARENT/GUARDIAN CONSENT form per group member under 18 years of age

Each participant in a gender neutral housing group must attend an information and placement meeting on 3/23 at 9PM in 182 Broadway 4th floor class room.  All completed forms should be submitted at that time.  Students approved for gender neutral housing will select their housing at this meeting.  Students who apply for gender neutral housing but are not approved, or who fail to attend the meeting, may still participate in the general online room selection process.

Gender neutral housing participants must commit to maintaining an inclusive and welcoming living environment free of discrimination based on gender identity and sexual orientation.  Gender Neutral Housing is not guaranteed to any student, and it will be denied in cases where applicants are attempting to secure housing for non-Platonic relationships.

Approval for gender neutral housing is not designed to provide students with a room selection advantage with respect to building selection. For this reason, students approved for gender neutral housing will be limited to the following buildings, based on their room selection numbers:

7.0+

Fulton Hall, 33 Beekman, 55 John Street

0—6.999

33 Beekman, 55 John Street

Late applications, cancellations and transfer requests may be considered, but cannot be guaranteed.  Unless students have specifically received approval for their late application for Gender Neutral Housing, they should make plans to participate in the main room selection process. Additional gender neutral housing questions can be directed to the Office of Housing and Residential Life at 106 Fulton Street.
