Resident Assistant Application Process

Welcome to the 2013-2014 Resident Assistant Application Process!!

Resident Assistants (RAs) are paraprofessionals who live in residence halls.  RAs encourage and support students in academic and personal growth by fostering awareness, appreciation, and development of skills to succeed in a diverse, global society.  Finally, RAs are role models within their communities, demonstrating responsibility and ethical behavior.  Duties of the RA role include facilitation of the development of the floor and hall community, referral counseling, administrative functions, upholding university policy, and community development through programming.  RAs play a pivotal role in the Office of Residential Life and are a vital resource for many members of the campus community.

Minimum Qualifications:

Be enrolled in a degree granting program

Minimum CQPA 2.50, Preferred CQPA of 2.75

Be free of current University judicial sanctions

Have lived in a residential community environment

By completing an application you are expressing your interest in one of the most important student leadership positions available at Pace University.  RAs are community leaders, educators, counselors, friends, change agents, advisors, policy enforcers and team players.

If hired and placed as an RA, you will play a critical role in shaping a floor/building community and will involve student residents in that community.  The demands on RAs are complex, but the material and non-material benefits are extremely rewarding.  The RA position may very well be one of the toughest jobs you’ll ever love.

In the RA Information Packet & Application will find all of the materials (except for an unofficial copy of your transcript, which can be obtained through My Pace Portal) that you will need to complete an application.  Please read the contents carefully and complete each item fully.  We extend our appreciation for your interest and wish you the best in this process.
