Pace’s Information Technology Services (ITS) is proud to offer our Pace Mobile application to students, faculty, and staff. Over the past few months ITS has been creating and implementing a Phase I build of our Pace Mobile App. Our current application offers a variety of modules for the iOS, Android, and Blackberry devices.

New ePortfolio Tutorials
All ePortfolio tutorials have now been updated to reflect the new interface and features since the recent upgrade. The step-by-step tutorials are available for all stages of the ePortfolio building process and are accompanied by screen shots. New tutorials have also been added to reflect new capabilities, such as creating additional pages, building collections, and using the plan and resume tools. Microsoft Lync Demo Sessions
If you have heard about Microsoft Lync and are wondering what it’s all about come join us for the following dates and times:
- PLV Campus: Tuesday, October 9th : 10:00AM-11:00AM – Gottesman Room, Kessel Campus Center
- NY Campus: Wednesday, October 10th: 12:00PM-1:00PM – Lecture Hall North, 1 Pace Plaza
- NY Campus: Monday, October 29th : 10:00AM-11:00AM – Multipurpose Room, 1 Pace Plaza
- PLV Campus: Tuesday, October 30th : 11:00AM-12:00PM – Miller Lecture Hall, Miller Hall
These sessions will provide an overview of Pace’s Conferencing and Communication Solutions  with a focus on Microsoft Lync and its dial in conferencing feature that ITS will begin enabling the month of October for Faculty and Staff in group stages.
ThisRedrock product is now being used in the Tutoring Centers to manage/track tutoring center activity. Students use their Pace ID (card swipe) to sign in/out of the facility. The program’s robust admin functions include custom reporting, appointment and scheduling management along with student and faculty assignments.
Study Abroad Advising Seminar
This module was built using Adobe Captivate. It combines video/audio with a comprehensive slide show to inform students of important facts & requirements associated with Study Abroad programs at Pace (including financial aid, scholarships available,etc). This information session was previously held in a classroom setting; with the new online seminar, students will conveniently review program specifics online and be taken through a sample registration. There is a 12 question quiz at the end of the seminar, upon passing the quiz, students can record successful completion by submitting an online form. Java Version for Pace Systems
All Pace users should be using Java 6 update 31 with Pace systems. Using Java 7 at this time will cause compatibility issues with Pace systems. For a list of supported applications visit our Supported Applications  site.
Admissions Counselor Widget
This widget located on the Admissions site under Future Students (http://www.pace.edu/prospectivestudents/undergraduate ) will help connect future students with the Pace Admission Counselor for their region. Simply click on the Red bar, use the drop box below to choose your state, and then choose the campus you are interested in. You will then be presented with your counselor’s info and have the ability to send them a message.
Printing in the Computer Resource Centers (CRCs) and Libraries
The following link will refer users to the Pharos print client that can be downloaded onto a personal computer. For returning students, it is important to note that students using Window-based computers who have downloaded the Pharos Printer Client in the past will need to download an updated client file. (Please note: Mac users with existing OS 10.1.7 or lower will not need to make any changes. Anyone using the latest Mac OS, Mountain Lion 10.1.8, will need to update to the new printing client listed above.) Guest Wireless Account for Pace Visitors Needing to Access the Internet
ITS offers a self-service system for Pace Students, faculty, and staff to generate wireless/wired network guest accounts for individuals who are visiting Pace University for a limited time and would like to access the internet. A Pace sponsor can either request a new account, or make changes to accounts that have already been requested. For more information from the Account Services  page, select Guest Accounts/Request an Account  (standard guest accounts expire after 7 days). (Please note: Students may only request internet access. All other forms of system access must be completed by a staff or faculty and are subject to an approval process.)
