Google Apps for Education Notice
Google has notified us that some students may have been affected by a recent issue in Gmail that caused some actions you took (e.g. deleting a message, marking it as spam, or moving it to a folder) while viewing a message to be inadvertently applied to a different message. The issue occurred between January 15 and January 21. It affected only actions you took in Gmail for iOS, Gmail in a mobile browser, and Gmail Offline, and not Gmail in a web browser or Gmail for Android.
The issue is now fixed. Student that were affected will be receiving an email notification from Pace University ITS Help Desk. Affected students will need to take action to re-file their affected messages in Gmail by February 14, 2014.
What to do if affected?
Google is recommending that users check their Trash and Spam folders for any items that they didn’t intend to delete or mark as spam. Users can restore any misfiled messages by moving them back to their Inbox or intended folder.
IMPORTANT: These messages must be moved from the Trash and Spam folders by February 14 (messages are permanently deleted 30 days after they’re placed in the Trash). Also, you may find messages in the Inbox that were originally intended for Trash, Spam or other folders, and will need to move these messages.
Pace Migrating Google Apps for Education accounts to Microsoft Exchange
ITS would like to remind all students that we will be transitioning Pace student email accounts from Google Apps (https://google.pace.edu ) to Pace’s Microsoft Exchange email system (https://email.pace.edu ). An initial email was sent to all students on Wednesday, October 2nd to summarize the migration. We are strongly recommending that students take advantage of the self-migration tool that is listed below by Sunday, March 16th. After this date, ITS will manually begin moving student accounts. Students will be notified via email when their accounts are ready to be migrated. Please follow the instructions listed in the email. With Google Apps for Education, students get over 7GB of server space for saving their documents online. Students also get communication tools, such as Google Talk, as well as productivity tools (Google Docs: text files, spreadsheets, and presentations) and Google Sites (to develop web pages) accessible from any Internet connection.
Students currently on Google.pace.edu, can view performance information by visiting the Google Apps Services  page. This site applies to consumer services as well as organizations using Google Apps.
