Google Email Accounts Moving to Microsoft Exchange for Students
ITS would like to remind all students that we will be transitioning Pace student email accounts from Google Apps (https://google.pace.edu ) to Pace’s Microsoft Exchange email system (https://email.pace.edu ). An initial email was sent to all students on Wednesday, October 2nd to summarize the migration.
We are strongly recommending that students take advantage of the self-migration tool that is listed below by Sunday, March 16th. After this date, ITS will manually begin moving student accounts. Students will be notified via email when their accounts are ready to be migrated. Please follow the instructions listed in the email. Prior to initializing the migration, there are a few steps users can take to ensure the migration process occurs without issues.
- Step 1: Check to make sure you have IMAP enabled within your Pace Google settings.
- Step 2: Search your mailbox folders for any emails from ‘Orgsync (orgsync.com)’ and ‘livingsocial.com’ and then delete them. Also make sure to empty your Trash folder when finished.
- Step 3: If the events in your calendar are not critical, clear the entire calendar prior to starting the migration.. Instructions for how to do this can be found here .

Raffle for Students
Last year, Information Technology Services (ITS) sponsored a student raffle and had a great response. Therefore, we are pleased and excited to announce another raffle! The deadline for entering the raffle will be Sunday, March 16th at midnight. This year we are able to offer a total of 3 great prizes so students have 3 chances to win! High Definition (HD) Cable TV Channels in Westchester for Students
ITS is happy to announce that 56 Cable TV channels are now available in HD for Pleasantville, Briarcliff and White Plains Law School residence halls. Please see the following site  for a full listing of all channels. In order to receive all these channels, you’ll need an HD TV equipped with a QAM tuner. Most HD TV’s manufactured in the last 5 years have a built-in QAM tuner. Please reprogram/scan for “All” channels to receive both Standard and High Definition channels on your TV. Refer to your TV manufacturer documentation for details regarding built-in tuner and channel scanning information.
ePortfolio Design Update for Students and Faculty
The ePortfolio home page after log in has be redesigned! ITS has worked to create a more simplified, clean and streamlined look for users once they have logged into the system. The user-friendly home page allows for easy portfolio creation and sharing preferences. Check out the changes at https://eportfolio.pace.edu !

Java Compatibility and Updates for Students, Faculty, and Staff
As many of you are aware, Oracle has been releasing new versions of their product (Java) frequently, especially in recent years. This is largely due to the fact that hackers and cyber criminals target Java creating exploits and security risks. Unlike new releases of software applications, vendors and users like ourselves do not get access to the updated version prior to its release date by Oracle. Due to this, vendors and administrators are not able to adequately test or predict what issues may arise once the new versions are released.
The recent update from Java 7 update 45 to Java 7 update 51 has been especially difficult due to security requirement changes. For more information on Java compatibility issues, please visit our Supported Applications  and the Java Compatibility  pages. Please refer to these pages as we move forward. ITS and FIS will continue to evaluate resolutions to manage the compatibility issues between versions.
Wireless Update for Students, Faculty, and Staff
ITS has been steadily upgrading the wireless network to an improved Cisco-based system since May and much progress has been made. Over the winter break 41 Park Row and 163 William Street were migrated to the new PACE-WIRELESS network. New E-Procurement Phoenix User Interface
Please be advised that the user interface for the Pace E-Procurement system (SciQuest) will be upgraded on Sunday, February 15th. The new Phoenix interface has a cleaner look and feel, and we’re very excited to roll this out to the University. Click here to view the new features!
