Content to include on your Academic Materials page:
Curriculum Vitae (CV)
- Since CDFPT members each receive copies of your fact sheet and evaluations from your Department Chair and TAP/Personnel Committee, you need not include copies here
- It is recommended that your CV be no longer than 15 pages
Executive Summary
- Highlights your accomplishments and expertise in the areas of teaching, scholarship/research, professional/practicum (optional), and service
- It is recommended that your summary be no more than 2 pages
Teaching Portfolio
Include two documents: your Teaching Statement and Supporting Evidence of Teaching

Teaching Statement:
- Objective and subjective evidence of your abilities and effectiveness as a teacher
- Generally includes a teaching philosophy, courses you developed, learning communities taught, general classroom strategies, methods used to assess and evaluate students, collaborative teaching opportunities with students, and future teaching goals
- It is recommended that the statement be no longer than 20 pages

Supporting Evidence of Teaching:
- Suggestions include course syllabi, examples of assessment matrices and/or rubrics, examples of student hand-outs, examples of review guides and exams, examples of student assignments, student evaluations, and teaching evaluations by peers
Scholarship/Research Portfolio
Include two documents: your Scholarship/Research Statement and Supporting Evidence of Scholarship/Research.

Scholarship/Research Statement
- Objective evidence of your abilities and effectiveness as a scholar/researcher
- Generally includes a scholarship/research philosophy; a description of your scholarship/research and its impact, influence, and importance in your discipline; work(s) in progress with anticipated completion dates; grants, applied for and received, or approved and not funded (substantiated by documents); presentations at academic or professional meetings or in seminars or forums for students, peers, or the public
- Future scholarship/research goals
- It is recommended that the statement be no longer than 20 pages

Supporting Evidence of Scholarship/Research:
- List of your publications, presentations, and impact factor of journals and citation reports
- Links to or a portable document file (PDF) of your published and/or graphic works. For books, you may wish to upload a PDF of the book title and a chapter or two that illustrates your work.
- For faculty with tenure and applying for promotion, it is recommended that you separate your pre-tenure and post-tenure publications/presentations
Service Portfolio
- Highlights your contribution to 1) your Department, School/College, and University (internal service); and 2) the professional and community levels (external service)
- It is recommended that this section be no more than 10 pages
Professional/Practicum Portfolio (optional)
- Section is optional and does not apply to the majority of disciplines
- Faculty in nursing and some areas of business may find this section appropriate
- Confer with Chair or Dean to determine if this section is applicable to you
- It is recommended that this section be no more than 10 pages
Addendum
- This section is reserved for information that is relevant to your tenure and/or promotion (e.g. accepted publications, presentations, and awards), and that occurred after the December 15th deadline for submission of your eDossier to the Provost’s Office
