Teaching Circle
All faculty (full-time and part-time -- from any school, campus, or discipline) who want to prepare to use ePortfolios in their Spring, 2012 classes are welcome.
Now that all Pace students and faculty have eP accounts, come and learn how best to teach with this new tool and how it can benefit all members of the Pace community.
So what exactly is an ePortfolio?
It is a way for students to collect, select and reflect on their academic work and showcase materials that will be useful in their professional lives. It enables students, faculty, and staff to post files, images, videos and blogs that enrich teaching and learning, and sharpens students' technological skills.
The ePortfolio does not replace the functions of Blackboard; rather it enhances them by encouraging reflection, blogging, and saving individual files. Also, unlike Blackboard, students will have access to all the work posted on their ePortfolio account throughout their academic lives and beyond.
Ten faculty on each campus will have the opportunity to participate and to receive a stipend for attending all teaching circle meetings, participate in online discussions, teaching a course using ePortfolios, and agreeing to discuss your experiences with other faculty at Faculty Institute and/or another faculty event.
