Meet Your Global Ambassadors!

Adriana Campillo
MedellÍn, Colombia
Hello Everyone! My name is Adriana and I come from Medellín, Colombia. I am currently a sophomore at Pace majoring International Business. I consider myself a very happy and outgoing person, I love meeting new people and socializing with people of different cultures. My biggest hobby is traveling and experiencing new places, I've been to more than 35 countries and hope to see many more! I also love scuba-diving, dancing, and watching sunsets with my friends. I’m a fan of adventure and adrenaline, but I also enjoy learning and studying. I can speak three languages and I’m hoping to learn a new one soon. I hope I can help you with anything you may need here at Pace to make your experience more happy and enjoyable. Do not hesitate to ask for help! We are here for you! We, the internationals, are a big family.

Dax Patel
Surat, Gujarat, India
Hello everyone, I am currently doing my master's in Computer Science. The one thing I am very fond of is travelling to places around the world. I did my first master's in Electrical Engineering with Renewable Energy Systems in London. I like to challenge myself by doing something new. I keep pushing myself until I complete what I plan to do. Apart from studies, I like to click pictures of the places where not many people go, quiet and different places. My motivation in becoming a Global Ambassador is meeting people from different countries and getting to know more about their culture.

Helene Brunaes
Sandefjord, Norway and Singapore
Hey there! I am a Junior at Pace studying Marketing with a concentration in Advertising and Marketing Communications. Although I was born in Norway, I consider myself to be part Singaporean and Australian after having spent my childhood years in both Singapore and Australia! I live for music (the photo above is me singing to Stevie Wonder), photography, food, wonderful human interactions and my 7-year-old puppy Leica (who was coincidentally named after the camera manufacturer, Leica). While my parents and puppy live in Singapore, my brother and extended family live in Norway and my best friends are scattered across the world. Each day, I am making a new home for myself in the US and I applied to be a Global Ambassador in the hopes that I can help others find their home here as well! If you do see me on campus or on the streets of New York, please don't hesitate to say Hi! or Hey! or Hallo! I am always happy to have a conversation and answer any questions you may have. I look forward to meeting you!

Josefine Bidegard
Stockholm, Sweden
Hi! I am so excited for the opportunity to be a Global Ambassador here at Pace University! As an international student from Sweden, I am very much aware of the challenges many of us face when moving abroad, and I am happy to assist you with any information or help needed! A little information about myself, I was born and raised in Sweden, and Swedish is my first language. I am currently an undergraduate student, double majoring in Women and Gender's Studies and Communication Studies. Again, feel free to contact me with any thoughts or questions!

Kate Zheng
Wenzhou, China
Hi everyone! I am from Wenzhou, China, a southeast seaside city. Before transferring to Pace University, I spent my freshman year in Hangzhou. However, as one of few people who are not a big fan of the city, I decided to go abroad, and that brought me to Pace. I am majoring in Public Accounting, but I like so many other things as well! Such as cooking, hiking, and solving puzzles. I am more than happy to share my experiences with you and to help you find Pace University as a fantastic place to enrich your college life. Last but not least, welcome to the big family!

Marcela Brasil
Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
I am from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. I have been living in the U.S. since 2011 — I graduated in 2015 with a bachelor’s degree in Journalism. I am now getting my master’s degree in Publishing. As a Global Ambassador, I hope to be a helpful resource for the international students and international community. I love meeting new people, especially people from other countries and from different backgrounds. Learning about different cultures is very interesting and exciting.

Pim Pinyowisarn
Bangkok, Thailand
My name is Pimpapat Pinyowisarn, or Pim. I'm from Thailand, the land of smiles. I just finished my Global Pathway last Fall. I'm currently pursuing my MBA in marketing management. I have been in New York for a year and a half and moved to so many places around New York, and now I'm currently living in Brooklyn, so I am quite familiar with many great spots. Exploring new places is my goal everyday.

Rawwaf Alkharji
Dammam, Saudi Arabia
Rawwaf is my name but by all means, call me Raúl. One might say Raúl has nothing in common with Rawwaf. Like the individual who was asked: why do you believe in shaving before a workout?

“That is how I do it, and I don’t really need a reason” - Barack Obama.

I love socializing, eating, and laughing. Ping-Pong and the gym are my “getaway” activities from a busy school day. Any interesting visual art is entertaining for me; that includes movies, shows, educated conversations, comedy, etc. I am an active person. Fun fact about me is that I can’t handle any group of little tiny holes gathered together in one place, my body gets goose bumps. It’s called trypophobia.

Shannon Zhu
Jinan, China
Hi, this is Shannon. I have been in NY for 5 years. My first master’s degree is in accounting. I passed all four parts of my CPA exams, so I’d like to discuss all CPA questions with you. Now, I am working towards my second master’s degree in Financial Risk Management. I like traveling, but always get lost. If you also always get lost, let’s discover a new world together. If you are good at directions, let’s meet the world together.

Solmaz Azimi
Kabul, Afghanistan
Hello, I am Solmaz! I come from the glorious country of Afghanistan, despite having lived predominately in Kenya, Pakistan, and Switzerland. I moved to New York to disappear because I always felt uncommon—almost too cultured, yet the people I met proved quite otherwise! I was a dancer and a painter before Pace University, and now I am an aspiring chemist (one more year to go). I am passionate about science, sustainability, cultural competency, art art art, innovation, nature (come park-hopping with me!), and science (I know I already mentioned it, but I really am a nerd). Above all, I am here to provide some solid advice on ambition, academia, professionalism, and well, making the most of New York and Pace.

Tine Stenberg
Oslo, Norway
I am a 22- year old Norwegian girl, currently studying in Arts & Entertainment management here at Pace University. My hopes and dreams when it comes to my future career include working within the film, television and the music industry doing different types of events. I love to travel and experience new things and would like to one day be able to travel the world, learn about different cultures, and work with animals as well. I think learning about different people and cultures is one of the most important things we humans can gain going through life. Hence, one of the reasons I am thrilled to be one of the Global Ambassadors. I am excited to meet and help both new and current students, so don't hesitate to contact me.
