Pace Law School Students to Provide
Legal Assistance to Victims of the World Trade Center Disaster
New York – More than 75 Pace University
School of Law students have volunteered to assist victims of the World
Trade Center disaster through the New York State Bar
Association’s (NYSBA) Committee on Mass Disaster Response.
Volunteers
will be available at the NYSBA booth located on 80
Centre Street New York, New York. The booth will be open Monday,
October 8th through Sunday, October 21st.
The hours are Mondays though Fridays 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and
Saturdays and Sundays 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The purpose of the NYSBA
service is to help match up persons in need with appropriate referrals
and services.
Pace
law students will assist with intake screening of people who believe
that they may have legal problems or needs associated with the disaster.
Other entities also available at the site will include the City Bar,
the ABA, and the Red Cross.
The
New York State Bar Association’s Committee on Mass Disaster Response
enables the legal community to respond quickly to disaster related
situations. The NYSBA has
worked for a number of years very closely with SEMO and other disaster
related entities to help when needed and called upon. The

Founded in 1976, Pace
University School of Law has nearly 5,000 alumni/ae throughout the
country. It offers full- and part-time day and evening J.D. programs on
