Pace Law School Names International Law Expert
Mark R. Shulman New Director of Graduate Programs
WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., September 20, 2004 –
Mark R. Shulman has recently joined Pace Law School as the Director of
Graduate Programs. He will be administering the graduate degree
programs in Comparative Law and Environmental law, as well as
exploring opportunities for further innovation and expansion.
“I’m really
delighted to be joining Pace, particularly at such an exciting time in
its history,” said Dr. Shulman. “We’ve got some terrific
programs, and I’m very enthusiastic about building on them.”
In addition to
practicing law at Debevoise & Plimpton in New York City, Dr.
Shulman has served on the faculties of Yale University, Columbia
University and the Air War College. He also serves as secretary
and treasurer of the Asian University for Women Support Foundation, an
initiative dedicated to building a world-class women’s college in
Bangladesh.
Dr. Shulman
received his B.A. from Yale University, a master’s degree in history
from Oxford University, a Ph.D. in history from the University of
California, Berkeley, and a J.D. from Columbia University, where he
was a Stone Scholar and editor-in-chief of the Columbia Journal of
Transnational Law. Dr. Shulman is the author or editor of
numerous books and articles on the public international law, the laws
of war, military history and international security affairs.
Founded in 1976, Pace Law School is a New York Law School with a
suburban campus in White Plains, N.Y., 20 miles north of New York

full-time and part-time day and evening students. Its postgraduate
